Each year, the City of Jacksonville, Public Works Department schedules Hazardous Waste Remote Site disposal events around the city. In serving on the Special Committee for Solid Waste, Council Member Danny Becton noted that there were no hazardous waste remote sites selected anywhere near the Southside area, much less the 32256 zip code. To serve the needs of the community in making this very important and valuable event available to District 11, CM Becton in working with the Public Works and The Parks and Recreation Departments, worked out making for one-day only, the 9A Baymeadows Regional Park available for just that event. Please clean out your garage, your utility room or your landscape shed and bring those dried up or empty paint cans, those containers filled with used oil, and any number of hazardous waste materials that you have always wanted to get rid of but did not know how or where to. The District 11, Hazardous Waste Remote Site Disposal Event is a short drive, convenient to your location, so no more excuses, Come on Down and Get Rid of that Stuff!
