Jacksonville, FL (August 22, 2017) On May 23rd, 2017, City Council passed a resolution honoring District 11 resident Greg Tison as the 2017 Recipient of the National Market Manager of the Year Award as presented by the National Association of Produce Managers (“NAPMM”). NAPMM, is an all-volunteer group of managers of retail, wholesale and public markets from across North America and beyond. NAPMM strives to help market managers improve facilities and increase services while encouraging cooperation and exchange of ideas between members and partners.
This award recognizes a market manager for their work and accomplishments at the markets they have managed or are managing. This award was presented by the NAPMM on March 23, 2017 to Greg, as the General Manager of the Jacksonville Farmers Market (“JFM”) as the 2017 recipient.
Greg understands that a leader is defined by the work and support of the team. In his acceptance speech, Greg stated, “It equally recognizes the proud efforts of the entire JFM team, from our cleaning staff to assistant managers, along with the unwavering support of the management and team at our parent company, Beaver Street Fisheries, Inc. I also recognize the continuing support we receive from our customers, vendors, partners and the City of Jacksonville”.
The City Council also honored Greg with the presentation of this resolution on August 22, 2017 in Council Chambers with family and friends.
Council Member Becton, a co-sponsor to the resolution was in attendance and spoke about Greg’s many accomplishments and work in the community.
