Jacksonville, FL (November 18, 2017) – The evening turned out to be a perfect night to host the 2017 XGLO games at the 9A Baymeadows Regional Park Tennis Complex. Over 120 area players young and old filled the courts in a party type atmosphere to enjoy what XGLO describes as turning traditional tennis into a fun, no-pressure social experience for people of all ages and abilities. Unlike traditional tennis events, “XGLOsive” takes the pressure off and turns the music and the fun way up.
District 11 Council Member Danny Becton was on hand to participate in the fun and fun was had as he noted:
“The event was a blast” explained CM Becton. “I had no idea what to expect but everyone was having such a great time and the XGLO staff was fantastic!”
XGLOsive, turns out the lights and provides a night of black lit courts with everything fluorescent becoming an exciting object moving and lighting up the environment with neon yellows, pinks and tennis ball greens. “The XGLO staff had several games setup for the groups”, explained CM Becton. “The first game was to help in getting you accustom to the hand/eye coordination of hitting in the dark, the green neon lit tennis ball. Once everyone got comfortable with that, the games turned into a little competition to win a point and to be the king of the other side until beaten,” CM Becton continued. “It was a lot of fun!”
The event was sponsored by the USTA of Florida who organized and funded most of the costs of the event whereby the only expense was $5 for each player and you even got a USTA free tee shirt. The evening was broken into three sessions with the first session for younger players and the last two sessions for ages 15+ and up. The event started at 6pm and lasted till almost 9pm. Each session was scheduled for 45 minutes of play.
