A man is in critical condition after being shot while driving on Jacksonville’s Northside, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, and the victim has been hospitalized for treatment.
At around 3 a.m., officers were dispatched to the shooting incident on Webb Road, specifically in the 13000 block. JSO Sergeant Richardson reported the incident.
The man, who Richardson stated is in his mid-20s, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and sustained a gunshot wound on Webb Road. Despite his injury, he was able to drive by himself to the 2700 block of Starratt Road before first responders took him to a nearby hospital.
Richardson stated that the incident seemed to be an isolated one. He mentioned that they were unable to speak with the victim before he received medical treatment, resulting in no available suspect information at the moment.
According to JSO, it is currently unclear whether the suspect or suspects were on foot or in another vehicle. Richardson stated that detectives interviewed individuals in the vicinity who heard the gunshots but did not witness anything. Additionally, the detectives searched for surveillance footage in the area but were unable to find any.
