According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, there were three separate incidents in Jacksonville overnight, resulting in two fatalities and two injuries.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, the first incident occurred on Osteen Street, near Lambing Road, in the Jacksonville Heights neighborhood.
The police have not disclosed the cause of death for the victims.
According to JSO, the relationships of those involved remain unknown.
Around 9 p.m. in the Normandy Manor neighborhood, there was a shooting incident on Herlong Road, near Lindsey Road.
Police report that the man who was shot managed to drive himself to a nearby hospital before officers arrived. Fortunately, his gunshot wound was not life-threatening.
The man was shot by an unknown suspect while he was walking in the area, according to early investigation. The police have stated that the man was specifically targeted and they believe that this incident was isolated.
Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, there was a third incident on Harts Road in Jacksonville’s Northside.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement discovered a male individual in his late 20s who had sustained a solitary gunshot wound. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) confirmed that the man was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
According to the police, their initial investigation found that several individuals arrived at the scene and fired multiple shots in the direction of the man.
Police have not made any arrests in any of the three incidents.
